Below is a submitted letter to the Editor for Dec.
For some, this season is about a homeless child. A manger is not intended for humans to live in, even a few days. I freely admit my ignorance about most of the other religions and cultures.
But homelessness is not new. What pierces my heart is when people calling the hotline says, they have 1 or more children.
I wonder if the young ones are questioning “what did I do wrong , that I deserve to be hungry and homeless.” They are seeing the worst society has to offer-our indifference, our distain.
And yet we still have the audacity to call the youth, “our hope for tomorrow”? Is that how we treat our potential hope? We need to treat each child born of either pauper or king, or some where in between, as special, worthy of nutrition and safety of a home.
This is the gift I want for the holidays. No more homeless kids.

What is Poverty
Simply put Poverty is the inability to purchase your simple basic needs. Simple needs are: Food, rent, water, a place to go the bathroom, to be able to wash, provide for healthcare, keep warm and cool enough, and take care of emergencies.
This is NOT an exhaustive list. If you have an infant a place to go to the bathroom means a diaper. Vitamins and iron the building blocks of life are essentials.
Anyone who stumbles onto this blog, please tell me what you think are basic necessities. The basic needs are also human rights. As is the human right to adequate pay to cover these needs. THINK about it. Living within your means also indicates you are well enough paid to cover the costs.
Why didn’t mankind design the financial scheme that way to begin with? And I purposely used the word mankind to blame, those first responsible. Perhaps women kind can and will fix this.

Dec 10th Action, to End Poverty
This is going out to as many groups as I can locate-know I will miss of few. Feel free to send this to a freiend or a group you belong to.
One Word many meanings "Poverty". Please tell your members about this December 10th Action
I am tired of seeing Movie,TV stars, Sarah Palin, and sports stars as half of the top ten searches of Yahoo and Google, most popular searches. Are you?
Poverty Awareness Day, Planned on the Human Rights Day of Dec. 10 when in 1948 the UN adopted a 30 article statement, saying everyone should have a pay which covers their needs.
Our small group called Hospitality House Inc, of Maine ask everyone look up "Poverty" on Yahoo and Google on December 10th.
This also is called Bill Tinker day for a NH veteran who fought homelessness, until his dying breathe last week. Nov. 16th http://www.legacy.com/Obituaries.asp?Page=LifeStory&PersonId=136180166
If us and the groups joining us gets enough people on the search engine we can make the word poverty one of top ten. We will then tell the media that People care about ending poverty. Pray to use this time to recreate economy, to end poverty
Please ask 3 friends or groups to Join in looking up the simple word "poverty," on the search engines, at all times of Dec. 10th. In fact I will begin the evening before. I will go out of the search engine and re-enter every time. www.Hospitalityhouseofmaine.org.
I will be grateful for any way you can get out the news to places, people, and groups. This is an world wide effort. Seek at least 250,000 hits, Every hit or 10 hits, counts.

Howdy I live in Maine. Am days away from my 60th birthday; Dec 3rd. This woman has lived in poverty for 55 out of 60 years. I have been homeless. I work without pay, for the poor.
I have weird ideas, like Every working persons pay should be adequate to cover the basic needs and emergencies. As so should be the disabled and welfare mothers. That is said in America's second Bill of Rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
That means every Maine level entry job would start at $21.00 a hour for 40 hours. Some nurses, do not make that. They should be making $10.-$15 more the a food clerk.
I will tell you hidden news, as unconstitutionalactions of trusted officials. I will tell you the untold stories. I will bring you coverage of news, and event from my back yard and across this world. I am interested in this blog being picked up by the media.
